The President of The World Federation, Anwarali Bhai Dharamsi, in collaboration with The Council of European Jamaats and its constituent member Jamaats in Paris Mehfile Zainab (Paris North Jamaat) and Muhammadi Imambara ACCIJ (Paris South Jamaat), sent a letter to the President of France, Mayor of Paris and to the Archbishop of Paris on the recent catastrophic fire damage to Notre Dame Cathedral.

On the first Friday of Sha’ban, the ladies of Wessex Jamaat held a Dua and Brunch session to raise funds for the victims of Cyclone Idai in Africa.

On 11th March, 2019 Sheikh Fazle Abbas was invited to deliver an assembly at Brockhurst Primary School.

Our Visit My Mosque Day was a huge success as we opened our doors to the Portsmouth population. 

On this Friday, a day usually dedicated to congregation and togetherness, we are deeply aggrieved by the news of the appalling shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Tuesday 15th January marked the 24th Annual Muslim-Christian gathering held at Portsmouth Cathedral, where the congregation of the Al Mahdi Centre and St Thomas’ Cathedral had the opportunity to meet amidst food for the body and soul.

Since the new year, Wessex Jamaat has been hosting Fajr programmes at the mosque for gents on Sunday mornings, which has had a great response.

The objective for this event is for Religious Education trainee teachers to visit a centre, meet Muslims, ask questions on Islam, and to gain a practical insight on Islam and Muslims in the U.K.
