Salamun Alaykum,
Recommended salah for Sunday in Dhulqa’dah:
It is recorded that the Noble Prophet s.a.w.w. addressed his companions on a Sunday in the month of Dhulqa’dah saying “O people! who among you desires tawba (repentance)?
All replied “We all do need tawba, O Messenger of Allah.”
The Noble Prophet then said,”Perform ghusl, wudhu and then recite four rakat prayer as below:
To recite 2 units of 2 Rakat Prayer and in each of the Rakat after Sura Al-Fatiha, to recite Sura Al-Ikhlas 3 times, then once each of the two 'Al-Maw'adhatayn' Surahs (i.e. Sura An Naas and Sura Al-Falaq).
After completion of the prayer, to ask forgiveness from Allah 70 times saying:
أَسْتَغْفِرُ الله
(Astaghfirullah), then to say:
لاَ حَوْلَ وَ لاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْمِ
يَا عَزِيْزُ يَا غَفَّارُ، اِغْفِرْ لِيْ ذُنُوْبِيْ وَ ذُنُوْبَ جَمِيْعِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمؤْمِنَاتِ
فَإِنَّهُ لاَ بَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْب إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
"Laa Hawla Wa laa Quwwata Illa Billahil ‘Aliyil 'Adheem"
"Yaa 'Azeezu Yaa Ghaffaar ighfirli dhunubi wa dhunuba jami' l-mu'mineen wal-mu'minaati fa innahu laa yaghfirudh- dhunuba illa ant."
("There is no power and strength except that what is in Allah, the High, the Almighty." Then he should say, "O the All-Powerful, the All-Forgiving, Forgive my sins and the sins of the believers from the males and from the females , for there is no one that forgives our sins except you." )
Its benefits: The Noble Prophet SAWW explained that this prayer to be performed on Sundays in this month (Dhulqa’dah),was taught to him by Archangel Jibrail on the journey of M’iraj. It has numerous virtues for the one performing this deed and among them are:
In this world:
- Parents shall be pleased with the person
- Progeny will enjoy Divine grace
- Sustenance blessings will be widened / increased
At time of death:
- At the time of death the Angel of Death will be merciful upon taking the soul
5.The soul shall be exited with comfort and ease
- Will die with pure faith (Iman)
In the grave:
- It is made spacious
- It is illuminated with Divine light
On the day of Judgment:
9.Forgiveness of sins and repentance to Allah is accepted
- On the day of Justice, those who have grievances against this person, will ,instead, end up offering forgiveness.
