Dear Mu’mineen,
Salamun alaykum,
“O Allah This is the day of ‘Arafah, a day which You have made noble, given honour and magnified within it. You have spread your mercy, showed kindness through Your pardon, made plentiful your giving and by it you have been gracious towards Your servants.” (4th Imam Ali Zaynul Abidin a.s. in Sahifa As Sajjadiya Dua 47.)
Yawmul ‘Arafah - Day of ‘Arafah on 9th of Dhulhiijjah- is one of the most sacred days on the calendar. This day is one of the most blessed days. Although it has not been named as day of Eid, this day is one of the great days of Eid.
It is a day on which Allah SWT calls His servants to His taa’ah -obedience- and ibadah- to serve Him. The Divine Grace and Bounties are abundantly spread. On this day Shaytan is more debased, disgraced, furious and repulsed than on other days.
Traditions narrate that for those who were not able to achieve their purpose and goal (acceptance of Hajat) in Laylatul Qadr or those who were not forgiven on that day, then there is another occasion to realize that. The last opportunity for them is the Yawmul ‘Arafah; the 9th of Dhulhijjah.
This implies that the Yawmul ‘Arafah- in its blessedness, sacredness and sanctity is placed the same status as Laylatul Qadr; the night of Qadr.
