Our Year 11 students recently visited the Al Mahdi Centre on the 1st October as part of their GCSE Religious Studies course. The visit was an important opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of Islamic beliefs and practices, particularly topics such as prayer, worship, and understanding our local Muslim community. Experiencing the mosque firsthand helped bring their classroom learning to life and supported their preparation for the GCSE exams and their upcoming Islam mock.
Students found the visit both engaging and insightful; they enjoyed speaking with the Imam, partaking in a question-and-answer session, and seeing how Islamic teachings are put into practice. Many commented that the experience gave them a greater appreciation of the importance of faith in everyday life and helped challenge some common misconceptions about Islam. We are grateful to have been given the opportunity and experience to visit the Al Mahdi Centre once again. This visit is invaluable for our students and we thank you for always finding a way to accommodate us.
Thank you so much! Hopefully, we can return next year.
Kind regards,
Shannon
