The Friday Message - Issue No: 488 - Jum’atul Wida - The Last Friday Bidding Farewell

Sayyid Ibn Tawus and Shaykh al-Saduq have both narrated the following on the authority of Jabir ibn `Abdullah al-Ansariy:

Whilst observing the various devotions for revival of our nafs- self- during the closing days of this noble month of Shahru Ramadhan, kindly make special prayers to Allah SWT for protection from all calamities, for the cure of all who are unwell, comfort to those who are struggling due to oppression and calamities, for those unable to protect themselves in any way: all in Refugee Camps, conflict zones and homeless /inadequate housing wherever they may be. And pray for the hastening of the dhuhur of our beloved Imam Sahib al Zaman A.F.

O Allah, in these final moments of Ramadan, forgive our sins, erase our shortcomings, and grant us Your mercy. Let this month end with our hearts purified and our souls drawn closer to You. Ya Allah, accept our prayers, fasting, recitation of Quran, the night vigils and good deeds, and make us among those whom You have freed from the fire.

As we bid farewell to Shahru Ramadhan, during the remaining moments let us increase recitation of Quran and Salawat. Let us continue to offer special prayers to Allah SWT, by wasila of Ahlul Bayt a.s. invoking the name of Imam al Asr Sahibaz Zaman (A.F.), for acceptance of our devotions, protection from all calamities, forgiveness of our sins and shortcomings.

Sahifatu Sajjadiya Dua No 44 Bidding Farewell to Shahru Ramadhan:

….this month stood among us in a standing place of praise, accompanied us with the companionship of one approved, and profited us with the most excellent profit of the world's creatures. Then it parted from us at the completion of its time, the end of its term, and the fulfilment of its number.

So, we bid farewell to it with the farewell of one whose parting pains us, whose leaving fills us with gloom and loneliness, and to whom we have come to owe a safeguarded claim, an observed inviolability, and a discharged right. We say: Peace be upon thee, O greatest month of God! O festival of His friends!
