Expressions of Joy and Gratitude:
Across the globe, Muslims celebrated the blessed occasion of Meeladun Nabi during the previous month of Rabi’ ul Awwal, the month in which Rasulallah- the Messenger of Allah- graced this world. The birth of Nabi Muhammad Mustafa SAWW, the chosen messenger of Allah SWT, is certainly a Divine blessing bestowed upon all believers and mankind.
In every corner of the world gatherings to honour and celebrate this auspicious event of Meeladun Nabi were organized. Men, women and children participated in a variety of programmes ranging from na’at/ qasida recitations (poem of praise), lectures, processions, fund raising for charity, volunteering services, presenting donations, competitions in various skills and sporting events. Each of these activities reflected the joy, gratitude and admiration that Muslims hold for that great personality of Rasulallah, the best among all creations. Undoubtedly, it is nothing but our absolute love for Rasulallah that motivates these celebrations. We are humbled to be his followers; the Muslim Ummah. Certainly, we deeply love Nabi Muhammad Mustafa SAWW. True love for Rasulallah:
However, the Prophet himself reminded us that love must be more than mere words or outward expressions. He said, “None of you is a believer until you love me more than your children, parents and everyone else”
True love for the Prophet is not limited to poetry, celebrations, or speeches in Meeladun Nabi Celebrations. It is demonstrated most authentically through following his example. As Allah SWT declares in the Quran: “Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah there is for you an excellent exemplar…” (Sura al-Ahzab 33:21)
The Noble Prophet is the best role model for every aspect of our lives, and genuine love for him is reflected in our commitment to live by his teachings.
