The Friday Message - Issue No: 410 - The birth of Kawthar

Salamun alaykum,

Abundance:

The fulfilment of Kawthar - abundance- as narrated in Sura Al Kawthar was attained in Makka on 20th Jamadi al Thaani in the 5th year of Bi’thah and 8 years before Hijra. This was when Ummul Mumineen -mother of the believers- Sayyida Khadijatal Kubra, the first and most beloved wife of Rasulallah- the Messenger of Allah- gave birth to Sayyida Fatima al Zahra a.s.; the only daughter of the Noble Prophet.

Plentiful Lessons:

Sayyida Fatima al Zahra a.s.; the pure, pious, and struggling lady whom Allah SWT has granted infallibility lived a short life on this mortal world. However, her presence provided innumerable messages that would enable mankind to reach the peak of human values and bringing them closer to Allah SWT.

Testified in the Noble Qur’an:

“And they feed for the love of Allah, the destitute, the orphan and the captive. Saying: we feed you for the sake of Allah alone; no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. (Sura al Dahr: 76: 8-9)
On three occasions, at the time of breaking the fast, Sayyida Fatima a.s. together with her family would hand over the little food they had prepared for iftar-breaking fast- to the Destitute, Orphan and Captive who came knocking on the door asking for assistance.
One lofty characteristic we find in the life of this noble lady is the spirit of altruism and generosity. Certainly, did anyone ever go empty handed from the door of Ahlul Bayt?

No doubt such outstanding deed, which has been announced by Divine revelation, deserves narrating and celebrating in our assemblies. However, are we able to relate these lessons of life from the Noble lady to ourselves? Does one strive to act on these lessons?

Bring them to action in our lives:

It is important that indifference does not settle in our daily way of living such that we no longer are able to relate these messages to ourselves.

What do you do?

What we do with our lives? How do we pass our time? What do you do most of the day? How much time do you allot to maintain spiritual upliftment in your life? How much time do you invest in family, friends and others; especially those whom you do not know?
Where do you spend most of your money? Does it all go towards the latest fashion designer clothes, electronic gadgets, house renovations, exotic holidays and many other extravagant personal expenses?

Do we consciously strive to have Sayyida Fatima a.s. as a role model in leading our lives?
The responses to these questions are indicators to gauge our love and attachment to this beloved lady and Ahlul Bayt a.s.

Activate your love for Sayyida Fatima Zahra a.s.:

The current unprecedent times of numerous global crisis we all are going through calls upon us to reflect: What would Sayyida Fatima a.s. and the Ahlul Bayt a.s. do in such situations?
It is important that we do not let our indifference to the needy and vulnerable settle in our way of living such that we no longer mould our lives on the way of Ahlul Bayt a.s.
Certainly, the amount of time and money we invest in others, not just on ourselves, as has been exemplified in the life of Sayyida Fatima Zahra a.s., are all ways of actively bringing to life our love of the Ahlul Bayt.
An indicator to gauge our attachment to not only this beloved lady, but to the Ahlul Bayt a.s. is how do we bring to action Sayyida Fatima a.s. and the Ahlul Bayt as our role models.

May we earn the pleasure of Sayyida Fatima al Zahra a.s. and the Ahlul Bayt.

Heartiest Felicitations on the Auspicious Occasion of birth of Sayyida Fatima al Zahra a.s.

Khushali Mubarak.

Wa ma tawfiqi illa billah.

With salaams and duas,
