This Saturday, 15th February, there will be an assembly at Madrasah from 12:00- 12:20 pm to observe Wiladat of Sayyida Fatima Al Zahra a.s. A theme that will be covered in this assembly is selflessness; support to the needy by this exalted noble lady of light.
Across Africa, 23 million primary school children attend school hungry as the parents cannot afford a good breakfast. This has a severe effect on their ability to learn. Giving a child a healthy breakfast can improve their concentration, motivation and general behaviour. This, in turn, will boost their academic performance and allow them to make the most of their education. The ‘Fill My Cup’ appeal of the World Federation works with a number of schools in East Africa to provide children with a good healthy breakfast before school. The World Federation has been providing over 4,000 students in East Africa with a hot cup of porridge for breakfast.
In order to encourage our children to be aware of their role towards the needy around the world, we would like to encourage the children to contribute towards providing a hot cup of porridge for breakfast to children in the schools in East Africa. Each child is being requested to bring £1 pound to the Madrasah Assembly. Any additional amounts may be donated.
The collection on the day will be forwarded to the World Federation who is raising funds for the Fill my cup Appeal.
