Know the Kernel of Islam: A Practical approach to understanding the deeper aspects of Tawheed.

Summary

These interactive three sessions are aimed at deepening our understanding of Tawheed.
Tawheed is the essence of Islam and may simply mean that God is one. However, it should not be taken in a numerical sense for this understanding of tawhid would not rationally rule out the existence of more than one God. Rather, the concept of tawhid implies the infinite, simple, indivisible and unrivalled essence of God which renders any supposition of associates for God to be rationally impossible.
Moreover, God is depicted in the Qur'an with two different faces. In one face He is the most high and the most inaccessible and nothing resembles him. In the other face He interacts with and is connected to His creation. He is closer to men than their jugular vein, He loves them and men may even obtain the status of being His friends. How can we understand this duality of transcendence and immanence of God at the same time.
People of ma'rifah not only believe in tawhid but live it. Living tawhid means that the heart submits to the supreme reality of existence and harmonizes its will with the overwhelming will of God.
Each of the above issues, namely, Tawheed in essense, Tawheed in actions, and Tawheed in worship will be discussed in one session of the course respectively.
