Al Mahdi Centre welcomes Swanmore College students

As part of the GCSE RE lessons, Year 10 students at the Swanmore College visited Al Mahdi Centre on 5th June, 2017. Herebelow is feedback received from the students:

First of all, I would like to say a big thank you to both Dr Muhammad and Sheikh Fazle Abbas for an insight into your religion. This engaged my views on Muslims and Islamic beliefs. Thank you so much for letting me into your Mosque, I enjoyed learning about all the different prayers and wudu. I thought it was really relaxing and peaceful.

Thank you very much for letting us come and visit your mosque, it was really interesting to learn more about your religion and your lifestyles. I learnt more about how you feel about same sex relationships as I didn't know a lot about that. I really enjoyed learning more about your beliefs.

Thank you for kindly letting us enter your mosque. It was very peaceful and friendly and I felt very welcomed and at ease. At your mosque, I learnt a lot about the ways that Muslims pray, I learnt more about Ramadan and I leant about what Muslims thought about terrorism and homosexuality. The information you gave us will help us in our GCSEs and I now have a deeper understanding of the faith. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to teach us about your faith, I really appreciate it and would love to come back again soon!

Thank you very much for letting my RE class come to your mosque. I found it really interesting to see inside the mosque. I live locally and have driven past before, but never recognised it as a mosque. I will take away the knowledge of the physical features in the mosque to help with my GCSEs.

I would like to say thank you to Sheikh Fazle Abbas and Dr Muhammad. I learnt some new things about the religion and now know the proper way to say some of the Arabic words. It was really riveting to actually take part on the way of prayer and to see the structure and detail of the mosque itself.

Thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful mosque and showing us around. It was a great experience where I remembered old lessons and learning new things and new opinions. The atmosphere was very calm and peaceful which was a large contrast to our busy school. I enjoyed learning the Arabic words for the mihrab and minbar, it makes me feel very smart! I forgot the prayer routine and the washing routine so I will remember to write about those in my GCSE.
