Salamun alaykum,
Today : Yawmul Arafa: 9th Dhulhijjah:
This day is highly recommended for seeking ones desires from Allah SWT.
Present your desires to Allah:
It is reported that that on the day of Arafa, Imam Zaynul Abidin a.s. heard the voice of a beggar asking from the people. He turned to the beggar and said,” Shame on you! Are you begging from other than Allah on this day? Even for the baby in the mothers womb, there is the hope that Allah’s mercy is with him and that he will become virtuous.”
Imam J’afar Sadiq explains that on closing hours of this day Allah SWT informs His angels to bear witness that He is obliged to respond to the duas of the good doers, accept their deeds and forgive them.
Let us make effort to benefit from this open door for our hajat. Remember to pray for the parents, family, community, Marja taqlid, Ulama, our leaders, the sick ones, departed souls, the Ummah and for all who have their hajat.
Gems from 5th holy Imam a.s. :
During this week we observed the sad occasion of shahadat of our fifth holy Imam Muhammad Al Baqir a.s. which occurred on 7th Dhulhijjah 114 A.H.
Today being Yawmul Jum’ah and the day of Arafat, let us reflect on the following hadith from Imam Muhamad Al Baqir a.s. :
Jabir bin Abdullah Al-Ansari that Imam Muhamad Al Baqir said to me : “O Jabir! Does it suffice that a person claims to be shia and that he says he loves us, the Ahlul bayt ?
“By Allah, no one is our Shia except that he has taqwa and obeys Him.
O Jabir! They ( shias) are not known and recognized except for their humility, fear of Allah, trustworthiness, abundant in remembering Allah (dhikr), fasting, salat, goodness to the parents, looking after the needy neighbours, afflicted persons, persons in debt, orphans.
They speak the truth, recite the holy qur’an, restrain their tongues about people except mentioning good and they are the the custodians / trustees for their communities in the affairs. - Imam Muhamad Al Baqir a.s
