Invitation to St. Peter's Church for Discussion Evening

Salamun alaykum,

Wessex Jamaat has been invited for Discussion Evening at St. Peter’s Church, Titchfield on Wednesday 26th November, 2014 from 7:30pm – 9:00pm.

The objective for the event is to visit the St Peter’s Church, meet the community, understand one another better, serve Almighty God together and earn Divine pleasure (note that the St Peter’s Church was constructed in 680 C.E., coinciding with the year 61 A.H. when the tragedy of Karbala took place).

During these religious days of Azadari and Advent which is being observed by the respective communities the theme for discussion is exploring how these events lead to light of guidance in each of the two faiths; Islam and Christianity. In these occasions of Azadari during months of Muharram/Safar members of the Al Mahdi Community will talk about the light of understanding that dawned on people as a result of the tragic martyrdom of Imam Husayn (a.s.) and his devoted companions on the day of Ashura (10th October, 680 C.E.), and how this this event is commemorated.

The Church members will talk about the activities which take place in church during the season of Advent, the four weeks before Christmas.  This is a wonderful opportunity for sharing the message of Imam Husayn a.s.  Muminin are requested to attend and participate in the discussions.
