WONDERING HOW ALLAH (SWT) WILL BRING US TO LIFE? CON’T
The other example, which Quran is giving, it is of Prophet Ibrahim (as). And this example has been given to us immediately after the example of Prophet ‘Uzayr (as). Prophet Ibrahim (as) asked Allah (SWT) to show him how He (SWT) brought the dead to life. “And when Ibrahim said: My Lord! Let me see how You give life to the dead? He (Allah) said: What! Do you not believe? He said: Of course (I believe)! Just to rest my heart at ease”.
Allah (SWT) asked Ibrahim (as) to take four different birds, cut them into very small pieces, mix them together and then distribute them to four separate mountains; and then call them. Ibrahim (as) did as commanded by Allah (SWT), and when he (as) called out the birds, they came flying to him as individual birds. (2:260)
According to narrations, the four birds were: A pigeon –sign of social life (love for family, friends, associates); A cock – sign of animal passion; A crow – sign of greed & a peacock – a sign of worldly adornment. They all have to be sacrificed for the sake of Allah (SWT).
EXAMPLES OF OUR TIMES:
These are the examples, which Allah (SWT) has given in the Holy Quran. But the question is that we were NOT there and we did not see all those things happening so that we too are convinced that Allah (SWT) is going to bring us to life. What examples are there for us today through which, we can understand this concept of coming back to life?
The Holy Quran says: “It is God who sends forth the winds so that they raise up the clouds, and We drive them to a land that is dead and revive the earth therewith after its death; so will be the resurrection”. (35:9) All we have to do is look at the nature during wintertime. Every place smells of death; the trees do not have leaves or fruits, or even flowers; the only thing remaining of it is dry branches and there is no movement of life. As soon as spring arrives and life-giving rain falls, suddenly movement is seen. Flowers bloom; Leaves grow; and the tree comes back to life; the birds also start making their nests on them. What difference is there between life of the earth after death and life of human beings after death? Thus we find Allah (SWT) is giving the parallel of this in the Holy Quran.
The second example is about the resurrection energy. Once again, Allah (SWT) says: “He who made for you fire out of the green tree, and behold! You make fire from it”. (36:80) Science tells us that only green trees can store the energy of sunlight. When we burn a piece of wood and make fire, it is the same heat and energy of the sun, which was stored in it for years. We thought that the light and heat had died, but when we lit it, we see that it has found new life! For Allah (SWT) who has all this power of storing the energy of sunlight in a tree for years, and in a moment bring all of it forward, can it not be possible for Him to bring us back to life?! So it is our belief that Allah (SWT) is going to bring us back to life and He (SWT) is most certainly capable of doing this.
