Population GrowthWessex Jamaat - Yesterday and Today

  • 1982 - 1988
    • Population - 30 people (10 Families)
    • 2 bed roomed flat in Portsmouth
    • 6 Madressah students ‚Äì operating from a local school
    • In 1992 community grew to 70 heads (25 Families)
    • Insert a picture of Elm Grove
  • 1993
    • Purchased a Bungalow and converted it.
    • Centre Capacity, 120 heads and 25 Madressah students
    • 3 Madressah Class rooms
    • Insert picture of Current centre
  • 2009:
    • Population 249 heads and 51 Madressah students
    • Centre has out grown to our needs

Wessex Jamaat - Our Vision for the next 5 generations

  • 2007/8
    • Wessex Jamaat purchased a 5 acre plot for ¬£750,000
    • £300,000 contributed locally
    • Obtained planning permission to build a multi-purpose Islamic Centre
  • Al Mahdi Project: Building In This Life for The Next.
    • Centre capacity 450 heads (we need to confirm this figure)
    • 4 Class rooms and built in flexibility to add 2 additional classes to host up to 200 Madressah Students (we need to confirm this figure)
